Background
Webamin is an internal platform used by sales and client representatives to create and set contract settings for our music rightsholder B2B clients (Sony, Universal, and Warner to name a few).
Webamin powers client account settings for our B2B software and platform, Pex Discovery. Discovery recognizes audio, video, and audiovisual content to identify cases of copyright infringement and monetization opportunities.
The problem
Pex received constant requests to modify client account settings to accommodate custom contracts
My role
I lead the end-to-end design process and collaborated with one other designer. Additionally, I worked closely with:
✺ 2 BE engineers
✺ 2 FE engineers
✺ 1 SRE
✺ 1 product manager and VP of Product
Investigating the source of the problem
We took a look at the representative’s current workflow and were able to identify Webadmin as the central experience and the driver of the problem. Setting up an account involved multiple systems. It was unclear what steps needed to be taken and at what point. From this observation, we identified some main pain points:
✺ Difficult to use with unintuitive information architecture
✺ Unclear terminology related to contract settings
✺ Difficulty auditing client account contracts led to mistakes in contracts
✺ No ability to customize or edit client account contracts or account details
